Michael Austin, an accomplished and passionate music educator, serves as the Director of the Roseville High School Tiger Band and Guard Program. Hailing from Pasadena, California, his journey through the world of music has been marked by unwavering dedication, exceptional skill, and a profound commitment to nurturing the talents of young musicians.
In 2017, Michael graduated with a dual degree in Music Education and Percussion Performance from Sacramento State School of Music. In 2019, he received his California teaching credential.
Over the past decade, Michael’s passion for teaching, combined with his comprehensive knowledge of music, has enriched the lives of countless students throughout the Sacramento region. His tenure at Roseville High School, spanning four impactful years, has been marked by transformative growth and a profound sense of community within the Tiger Band and Guard Program.
One of Michael's core convictions is that every student deserves a safe space to explore their individuality and share in the boundless joy of music. Through his leadership, he continues to shape the lives of young musicians, guiding them towards a future where music is not just a skill, but a lifelong source of inspiration and personal growth.
When Charles Henderson III was 7 years old, he moved from Arizona to Sacramento where he discovered his love of music. In 7th grade, as a student at Buljan Middle School, Charles began playing the tuba. Following his performance at the 2014 Causeway Youth Music Festival, he achieved a soloist rating of Superior at the California Music Edu
When Charles Henderson III was 7 years old, he moved from Arizona to Sacramento where he discovered his love of music. In 7th grade, as a student at Buljan Middle School, Charles began playing the tuba. Following his performance at the 2014 Causeway Youth Music Festival, he achieved a soloist rating of Superior at the California Music Education Association Festival in both 7th and 8th grade. A couple of years later, the Sacramento Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps contracted Charles during his Sophomore year at Roseville High School. He marched with them for 7 seasons (2017-2023), during which the Mandarins placed 6th in the world, making the World Class Finals for the first time in their history. Charles held the title of Contra Section Leader for 2 years with the Mandarins, as well as Feature Solo Vocalist for the 2022 production of The Otherside. In addition to his experience with the Sacramento Mandarins and Roseville Tiger Band, Charles spun with the Antelope High School Winter Guard and the SacState Winter Guard, placing 2nd in WGI. Along with his performance experience, he has also served as Band Director for Sunrise Elementary School, along with teaching and designing performances at various local high schools.
Currently, Charles attends CSU-Sacramento School of Music, where he is working towards his degrees in Music Education and Tuba Performance under renowned musician, Jullian Dixon. His passion for self-expression through music and dance performance has lead Charles on his dedicated path to share the power of music to the world.
Madison Moulton graduation from American River College with an Associates of Arts in Music. She is currently attending Sacramento State. Madison is a trombonist with experience in drum major technique and percussion. Along with instructing high school music programs, Madison also teaches elementary school music.

Matt Vasquez attends American River College where he is studying Computer Science. He has experience in alto saxophone, clarinet and mallet percussion. Currently, Matt is working with the Sacramento Mandarins Academy where he is teaching elementary music as well as instructing mallets for high school groups.

Currently, she attends CSU-Sacramento where she is slated to graduate in Spring 2024. Leighanne hopes to continue her passion of the arts as an instructor and performer for many years to come.

collegiate and independent levels in California, Colorado and Hawaii. He regularly designs,
consults and provides clinics for marching bands, indoor percussion ensembles and winter
guards throughout the year. His groups have earned high visual performance awards, state
titles and have been WGI PSW Semi-Finalists, DCI Finalists, BOA Regional Finalists & Class
Champions. He has multiple ties with the Sacramento Mandarins organization, as visual
instructor for the drum corps (2021/2022/2023), visual designer for their indoor winds group
and a program director for the Mandarins Music Academy.
Ryan has served as a Chief Judge, Lead Visual Caption Judge & has been on several circuit &
state championship event panels. He has had the honor of judging in thirteen states, for circuits
such as the Northern California Band Association, Western Band Association, USBands and
Bands of America. He is thrilled to continue working with Roseville!
